Leadership
Kabir J. Udeshi was born in Mumbai, India and received his undergraduate education from the University of Pune in 2000. He went to conduct research in the field of Micro-electromechanical Systems at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor for which he was awarded a Masters and a Doctoral degree in 2006.
Kabir contributed to the energy industry where he designed combustion systems such as burners, incinerators and indirect fired heaters. Many of theses systems lead to substantial environmental and economic benefits through the use of alternative fuels and improved efficiency; all achieved through innovative system design.
He decided to use his skills to address the menace of solid waste management - a global challenge, and formed Flycatcher Technologies. The organization provide tools that extract the value of solid waste by turning it into immediately usable resources. The tools are designed for deployment in individual homes and organizations and enable communities to be self sufficient.
